black metal
I create!
I destroy!
I don't know!
I don't care!
PORENUT is a Slovak black metal band combining the rawness of classic black metal with avant-garde approaches, psychedelic atmosphere, and a strong sense of conceptual depth. Their music connects dissonant guitar structures, hypnotic rhythms, and ambient textures with carefully constructed lyrics balancing between surrealism, nihilism, and the absurd grotesque of everyday life.
The project was formed around the duo Pořenuťák and Ňe, gradually joined by various collaborators over time. From the debut Mislives, through Postnihilera, to the latest album Výstup k svätej Kunde, the band has developed a distinctive identity that moves beyond standard genre boundaries while remaining firmly rooted in black metal aesthetics.
Porenut approach music as a complete conceptual work. An essential part of their art are the lyrics and stories accompanying each release, adding a strong literary dimension to the recordings. Surreal imagery, existential themes, primitive insolence, and dark humor create a world where cosmic emptiness naturally collides with housing-estate reality, beer, migraine, and a Tesco plastic bag.
Reviewers have described their music as a “black metal freestyle” capable of merging avant-garde experimentation, psychedelia, and black metal without losing its identity. As such, Porenut represents one of the most distinctive voices of the contemporary Slovak underground scene.
