unisonorium is a new project founded by tOmO and Daniel at Magic Garden.

The project revolves around the creation of unique, oversized electro-acoustic instruments. These instruments share certain key characteristics that are far more pronounced than in most conventional instruments, particularly kinetics, resonance, and friction. All objects require energy to be transferred directly from the performers’ bodies, without the use of motors, transducers, or similar devices. Due to their size, weight, and setup, the music produced by these instruments emerges much more from their inherent physical properties than from the performers’ ideas.

The project operates within a single tonal centre and a fixed tuning, referencing both the primitive roots of music and the tradition of sonorism, with its emphasis on textures, as well as contemporary post-spectralism through its approach to musical material based on the frequency composition of the instruments’ materials.
