XCES is a modular band/artistic collective
bringing an audiovisual spectacle of post-genre age with emphasis on topics like information overload, social alienation, meme culture, meta-irony and AI. Going rogue on genre with their debut, drifting through electronica/doom metal/experimental rap/noise territory whilst keeping it as much a tribute as a parody. Sitting somewhere on the uncomfortable edge between being still a pop album and an experimental adventure, the live show (just as the album) is driven by various visuals (with support of the artistic duo Ausgang Tech) and relies heavily on the juxtaposition of strict, nuanced arrangements versus free impro and surprise guest appearances.
